Art in Motion Dance Camp - June 17, 2017

JesAnn is teaming up with some amazingly talented dancers on Saturday, June 17 to offer a wide variety of workshops in 5 different dance styles. These specialty workshops are open to everyone with at least 3 to 6 months of dance training in any style. Learning footwork, arm styling, rhythm changes, and movements outside of your dance-comfort-zone can help you gain confidence, feel comfortable and have more fun on the dance floor.

Instructors:

Ksenia Nomberg / Ballet Instructor Ksenia began dancing at the age of 4 in St. Petersburg, Russia. As a child, she studied both ballroom and ballet. At age 10, she was accepted to the St. Petersburg State Children’s Ballet Theatre. There, she held the prestigioius position of coryphée (solo dancer) and performed in the company throughout Europe and Asia for 8 years. In 2009, Ksenia started competing in “Discofox”, a European style of dance combining Ballroom and American Hustle, earning her way into the highest division, winning many awards at top Russian events, and becoming a teacher. In 2012, she discovered West Coast Swing, and is now an active competitor. Ksenia dances in the All-Star Division and has already won several top placements at prominent American and Europian competitions.

Paula Wilson / Modern Instructor Paula Wilson began dancing at the ripe old age of 19, while majoring in Production Management and Set Design, with a focus on Dance Management. Two years later, she was accepted to the Alvin Ailey Professional Division in New York, and took some time off from college to focus on dance performance. While dancing with several ensembles in NYC, as well as in theater, film, and music videos, she fell in love with Argentine Tango. She went on to teach and perform Tango in the US, Asia, Europe, and South America for 12 years, while also directing and choreographing musicals overseas. After returning to the US in late 2011, she began dancing West Coast Swing. She is the Artistic Director of TIPDI (The International Partner Dance Intensive), a series of dance intensives, weekend dance "boot camps", and weekly classes - geared entirely towards adults - in multiple dance forms taught by world-class invited staff (www.tipdi.com). She has taught at national events and at universities with both her West Coast Swing partner, Ken Kreshtool, and her Tango partner, Lukas Weichert. When not dancing, she is in the recording studio as the Owner/Director of Pepsqually VO and Sound Design, Inc.

Chrissy Bridgeman / Lindy Hop Instructor Winner of multiple West Coast Swing and Lindy Hop competitions, including 2 Canadian Swing Championships and the American Lindy Hop Championships, Chrissy Bridgeman has been teaching and competing around the world for over 17 years. Chrissy started dancing and competing in Lindy Hop in 1999 and went on to start dancing and competing in West Coast Swing in 2008 and has been in love with both dances ever since! She has had to opportunity to study both styles with many greats of both dances and is continually studying and working with other instructors to find exciting new concepts to share. Known for bringing innovative ideas to traditional techniques and sharing them with the dance community, Chrissy has had the honor of performing and teaching at many exciting events and venues including: Walt Disney World, Superbowl XXXV, and Hard Rock Live. In addition to performing private shows for a variety of corporate conventions and fundraisers, she has also choreographed and appeared in film and theater for Hard Rock Lives’ Oscar Night America, American Heartland Theaters production of SWING! and the University of MO-KC. Most importantly, Chrissy focuses on making sure everyone learns AND has a great time.

Jennifer Ferreira / Latin Ballroom Instructor Jennifer Ferreira is an experienced Ballroom dancer turned All Star West Coast Swing competitor. Jennifer began dancing and competing in Rhythm and Latin Ballroom dance in 2004, training under top world professionals throughout the New England area. During that time she taught ballroom and is experienced in the DIVIA and ISTD Latin and Standard syllabi.
